Would Saul Arrest You?By Steven F. Deaton |

If Saul of Tarsus, the ravenous persecutor, was around today, would he arrest you? The Bible tells us that he sought to “bind all who call on [the Lord’s] name” (Acts 9:14). That is, he persecuted people of “the Way,” “saints” (Acts 9:2, 13). These were people who, by their words and deeds were know to be followers of Christ. Would you be known as one of them? While we are not to do things for the purpose of drawing attention to ourselves, we are to live so as to be a light in the world (Matt. 6:1-18; 5:14-16). If people do not see us living for the Lord, we are not doing our job. Christians are to be a distinct group. When people of the world see you, they should see you as “strange” because you do not live like them (1 Pet. 4:3, 4). |
