You may be somewhat confused by the above title. You may be asking yourself, “what kind of pizza would be considered ungodly?” Don’t misunderstand. I’m not condemning just any pizza. In fact, I love to eat pizza. But there is a new kind being delivered up in Canada that is very ungodly. The news story reads: “Local entrepreneur Corey Wildeman has launched Porno Pizza, a delivery-only pizza business that places pornography where you would usually find only cardboard -- under the pizza.” Although customers at this time cannot pick what nude graphics they want, the owner hopes to offer that choice in the future. Mr. Wildeman went on to say about the pictures sent out with the pizza orders that “It runs the full gamut. There are some that are very Playboy-esque and others which Larry Flynt would blush at.” How sick society around us has become! The depraved mind of man seems to have no limits when it comes to inventing more ungodliness. God’s description of mankind in the days of the patriarch Noah, “the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth” (Genesis 8:21), certainly continues to ring true today. Pornographic images are flashed before the Christian’s eyes on a regular basis through such avenues as: the TV, Internet, Magazines and Books in stores, the Undressed World around us, and now some Pizza Boxes. Parents must be vigilant to protect themselves and their children from such filth. Every child of God must remain “sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (I Peter 5:8). In spite of the constant temptations to do otherwise, we must be resolved like David to “set nothing wicked before my eyes” (Psalm 101:3). No doubt Paul had it right when he declared that the Christian lives “in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation” (Philippians 2:15). But are we rising above the filth and perversity that surrounds us, and shining as lights in the world? |
