Where are you building your house? Jesus said it is either on the rock or on the sand (Matt. 7:24-27). The two men Jesus describes are doing the same thing, building a house; in the same conditions, a storm. They had two very different outcomes, however; success and failure. What was the difference? One heard and did what Jesus said, the other heard but did not do. Thus, one was wise, the other foolish.

Are you actually doing what Jesus says or just hearing Him? The difference will be a life of faith and fulfillment with eternal fellowship versus a life of worry and woe with eternal weeping.

Pick out one thing that you can do today that you have not been doing. Add to that each week. Have you not been reading? Have you failed to pray? What about inviting someone to services or speaking up for the gospel truth?

Let us be determined to hear and do what the Lord says so we will be counted as wise, not foolish.
